Located on the shoreline of Wright Patman Lake, Malden Lake Campground has lakefront views and is set amongst lots of shade provided by a thick pine forest. The campground, which is open year round, offers many activities and amenities. Guests can enjoy canoeing, swimming, fishing, biking, hiking and birding as well as enjoy several surrounding attractions. This is one of the most beautiful and serene campgrounds on the lake.
Amenities at the campground include drinking water, a dump station, campfire rings, grills, pay phone, marina, picnic tables, showers, tent pads, a restaurant, trash collection and a visitor center. Fuel is also available onsite. Vending machines and a restaurant are also available at the campground.
The entrance to the campground has an electric gate, which does require a code for after-hours entrance. A host will issue the code to campers upon check-in. Rates for campsites, which include standard electric connections, range from $22 to $48 per night. Advanced reservations are required and may be made online at reservation.gov. Lakefront campsites are available.

Behind the campsites in the H Loop, Malden Lake Park has a trail system that is great for those who want to go walking or wildlife watching. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers manages about 55,000 acres of public forestland around the lake, which serves as habitat for a variety of animals, including visiting bald eagles that stop by on occasion. The area is home to some venomous snakes as well.
