Jackson Creek Park

Picnic Tent

Owned and operated by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, there are two free campgrounds available on Wright Patman Lake in Texas. Both campgrounds do have limited facilities and either have no or very limited amenities. Therefore, they are considered primitive campsites.

Jackson Creek Park is a free camping park that has a boat ramp onsite. Camping is allowed for no more than 14 days. The facilities include a picnic table and a ground fire ring at each campsite. The park does have a central vault toilet. However, no water or electricity are available on the grounds.

Amenities of the park include:

  • Picnic tables
  • Fire ring
  • Vault toilet
  • Boat ramp
  • Free camping (maximum 14 days)

Neither camping park requires reservations, so they are filled on a first-come, first-served basis. They do offer view of Wright Patman Lake and have shade provided by the tall pine trees that grow throughout the region. These two camping parks are located near the other day use facilities and campgrounds run by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers on the lake.

They are located off Clear Springs Park in Texarkana. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers can be reached at (903) 838-8781 to learn more about any of their facilities and parks on Wright Patman Lake. The parks are near hiking, biking, fishing, swimming and hunting locations.
