Northshore Park

Picnic Swim

Another park operated by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers on Wright Patman Lake is Northshore Park. Offering 60 picnic sites that have picnic tables and upright grills that are available on a first-come first-served basis from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. during the season, which runs from April 1 through Labor Day. The sites do not have water and electricity supplied to them. This is a day-use park.

Various locations throughout the park have fountains or faucets where drinking water is available. In some areas, the picnic tables are grouped together so larger groups and families can picnic together. The park also has a barriered swim beach, three volleyball sand courts, basketball court, a restroom building with showers, vault restroom and a boat ramp equipped with a courtesy dock. One covered table and three covered benches are located close to the beach.

The day use facility charges $4 per vehicle, which includes use of the picnic area, public beach and boat ramp. For pavilion use, there is an additional $30 fee in addition to the $4 vehicle fee. The park is located near the other U.S. Army Corps of Engineers properties that surround the lake. So it is close proximity to hiking, fishing, biking, hunting, wildlife watching and various sightseeing activities.

Northshore Park is conveniently located near campgrounds and other accommodations. The day use facilities are popular throughout the season.
