A day use facility on Wright Patman Lake, Oak Park is open from April 1 through Oct. 31. The park’s facilities include a day use group facility that is available for rent. The park has 26 picnic sites that are equipped with picnic tables and upright grills. The picnicking facilities may be used on a first-come first-served basis from 8 a.m. until 9 p.m. at no charge. Electricity and water are not supplied to these sites, but drinking water is available throughout the park from faucets.
A dump station is located within the park grounds. A play area equipped with a swing, a backstop for outdoor sports and a volleyball court are also available on the park grounds. There is a one vault restroom available onsite as well. While general day use is free, there is a $65 per day fee for reserving the day use pavilion. Because of the park’s location, it is within proximity of hiking, biking, fishing, hunting, wildlife watching and a variety of other outdoor activities. The various parks along the lake shore have miles of trails. There are accessible boat ramps and docks located throughout the area.
A short drive from the entire Texarkana region, Oak Park is located near campgrounds, motels and other accommodations. The park is located near the rest of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers properties surrounding the lake, which is located at the clearly marked lake entrance off Clear Springs Park in Texarkana.
